Safeguarding policy
Tutorvine is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and vulnerable adults who use our platform.
Immediate danger?
If you believe a child or vulnerable adult is in immediate danger, call 999 immediately. For non-emergency child protection concerns, contact the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000.
Our commitment
Tutorvine takes the safety of children and young people extremely seriously. All lessons take place via our monitored online classroom platform, which provides a structured, recorded-access environment for online learning.
Tutors may upload a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate and a Qualified Teacher Status certificate to their profile. Each submission is reviewed by our team before a verified badge is shown, and you can filter your tutor search to show verified tutors only.
We rely on tutor-submitted DBS certificates and verify their authenticity to the best of our ability. Tutorvine is not a certifying body and does not issue or guarantee any DBS check or teaching qualification. Parents and students should perform their own due diligence when choosing a tutor.
Tutor requirements
- All tutors must be 18 or over to register on Tutorvine
- Tutors working with under-18s are strongly encouraged to hold a current DBS Enhanced certificate
- Tutors must not share personal contact details with students outside the platform
- Tutors must not conduct lessons via any channel other than the Tutorvine classroom
- Tutors must report any safeguarding concerns to Tutorvine immediately
Reporting a concern
If you have a safeguarding concern about a tutor, student, or any interaction on the platform, please contact us straight away. This applies whether or not you believe it constitutes an immediate emergency. All reports are treated in strict confidence and investigated promptly.

For parents and guardians
We recommend that parents of younger students sit in on the first lesson or remain nearby during sessions. The Tutorvine classroom does not allow file sharing or private messaging between tutor and student. All communication happens within the lesson itself.
If you have any concerns about a tutor's conduct, please use our contact form or email us directly and we will investigate immediately. Tutors found to have acted inappropriately will be suspended pending investigation and removed from the platform if concerns are substantiated.
